we welcome you to the first shake & sound event

on Jósa's dock in Alameda

an immersive somatic experience

where you shed what no longer serves 

through shake and tapping,

release through guided inner sound expression

and integrate new space through receiving

a soundbath in the end

simple - primal and re-setting for your whole being

as the world seems to get more complex

our inner world wants to be more simple

this class is inviting us to create space for primitive

non-verbal release, allowing the inner sounds

and sensations to guide the expression

after working in yoga communities in the United States for over a decade

Jósa has come to realize how the suppression of free movement

and voice expression seems to be a dominating

common thing in the American 'white -controlled' culture

to help facilitate the change we require, as we adjust to renewed

(more humane?) systems

and a culture longing for deeper connection

the call must be to unlearn the programming we for so long

have been enslaved to believe controlling us

and come back to our remembering of relating

we all have bodies, and we all have sounds

let's shake and tap and be silly and serious

all at once

as we release that which

no longer serves

in this class you can expect:

• shaking, tapping, stretching and stomping

• releasing sound through your voice // breath, with instruments

• relaxing and breathing in a short sound bath
